The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong background in software development with expertise in areas such as system design data structures algorithms and software engineering principles. Strong problem-solving skills attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced collaborative environment are also essential.

Key job responsibilities
- Designing developing and maintaining complex software systems that power Amazons products and services.
- Architecting and implementing robust scalable and efficient software solutions.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers designers and other engineers to deliver high-quality software.
- Continuously improving coding practices testing methodologies and development processes.
- Staying up-to-date with the latest industry trends technologies and best practices.
- Mentoring and providing guidance to more junior engineers.
- Participating in the overall direction and vision of the engineering team and organization.

A day in the life
As a Software Development Engineer you will contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle including building an architectural vision and roadmap advocating for our candidates clarifying requirements applying design patterns development documentation testing and continuously improving our operations. You will leverage Amazons industry leading technologies to build systems at scale. You will use your strong verbal and written communication skills to mentor engineers on the team partner with Product Managers and promote the operational excellence of the systems we operate.

About the team
The Amazon Scaling Products Innovation and Recruiter Efficiency (ASPIRE) team optimizes recruiting through innovative products that attract top talent efficiently. Our mission is to automate the recruiting experience enabling recruiters to focus on high-value candidate interactions. We deliver world-class tools like the career site content management system candidate authentication and application portals.

- 3 years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2 years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

- 3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
- Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
