Woodston Personnel is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for an Emergency Department Consultant for an Acute model 3 hospital in Ireland. This pivotal role requires a highly skilled physician capable of providing exceptional emergency care to patients presenting with a wide variety of acute medical conditions. The Emergency Department Consultant will lead a multidisciplinary team in the assessment diagnosis and management of urgent medical cases ensuring high standards of clinical practice and patient safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess and manage patients presenting to the emergency department ensuring timely diagnosis and treatment of acute medical conditions.
Direct and supervise resident physicians and medical staff in the delivery of emergency care.
Lead resuscitation efforts for critically ill patients and apply evidence-based protocols to ensure optimal outcomes.
Coordinate diagnostic and therapeutic procedures including imaging studies laboratory tests and consultation with specialty services.
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare teams regarding treatment plans prognosis and outcomes.
Engage actively in quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance departmental performance.
Participate in educational programs for medical students residents and nursing staff fostering a learning environment.
Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols within the emergency department.
Maintain comprehensive and accurate medical records adhering to institutional policies and regulatory requirements.
Participate in administrative duties departmental meetings and peer reviews as required.
Stay current with advances in emergency medicine through continuous professional development.

Job requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
Completed training in Emergency Medicine or a related specialty with appropriate certification.

Proven leadership skills in a clinical setting and ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement and patient safety.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
Engagement in research and continuing education in the field of emergency medicine is encouraged.
