This role combines front office administration with payroll processing responsibilities. The ideal candidate will be comfortable interacting with clients while also managing payroll submissions for a large volume of employees across multiple client accounts.
Payroll Duties:
Process and submit payroll for multiple clients accurately and on schedule
Review timesheets wage calculations deductions and tax withholdings
Ensure compliance with federal state and local payroll regulations
Prepare payroll reports and maintain payroll records
Coordinate with clients regarding payroll changes new hires and terminations
Administrative / Front Desk Duties:
Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
Answer and direct incoming calls
Schedule appointments and manage calendars
Maintain client files (electronic and physical)
Assist accounting staff with administrative tasks as needed
Requirements
2 years of payroll processing experience (multi-client or high-volume preferred)
QuickBooks desktop experience
Experience in a CPA firm or accounting environment is a plus
Strong knowledge of payroll compliance and tax withholdings
Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
