The Global Credit Risk department sets the credit risk strategy ensuring that INGs lending practices are in line with its risk tolerance and regulatory requirements and managing credit restructuring from a global and central point. Global Credit Risk plays a critical role via its credit risk policies credit risk appetite setting and credit risk portfolio management in protecting the bank from losses due to defaults or economic downturns.
The Team
The Lead Credit Risk Processes and Control leads a newly created team of 6 FTEs and is based in the Netherlands. The role reports hierarchically to the Head of Credit Risk Frameworks and Control and is part of the Global Credit Risk Frameworks and Process leadership team in Global Credit Risk. It collaborates closely with stakeholders across the 1st and 2nd lines of defence including local credit risk teams COO (i.e. COO Risk) and senior management.
Roles and responsibilities
As Lead Credit Risk Processes and Control you will lead a global team and be accountable for the following:
Designing and implementing second-line credit risk processes and controls translating policy obligations into a global control inventory and ensuring clear Specific Tasks and Responsibilities across the credit risk lifecycle.
Developing and maintaining policy adherence testing procedures and effectiveness monitoring standards acting as the point of contact for non-SOx credit risk controls and supporting both local and head office execution.
Monitoring and challenging control adherence by creating structured oversight identifying opportunities for standardisation automation and process improvement.
Building and leading a high-performing team providing coaching feedback and development opportunities while fostering a culture of excellence integrity and continuous learning.
Representing the function in regulatory and audit engagements (e.g. ECB CAS external auditors) managing high-priority issues and ensuring timely and effective remediation of findings.

Deep expertise in credit risk across both 1st and 2nd lines of defence with strong knowledge of banking products risk processes and regulatory frameworks.
