The Virginia Economic Development Partnership (VEDP) is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to provide financial facilities and administrative support within the Fiscal & Support Services Division. This position will support agency operations by ensuring accurate financial processing responsive internal service effective coordination of fiscal and facilitiesrelated activities and have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-demand environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support fiscal facilities and administrative operations across VEDP and VTC ensuring deadlines accuracy and service standards are met
- Review employee expense reports and receipts for accuracy and compliance with VEDP policies and per diem limits
- Obtain approval for expense amount overages and process weekly employee expense reimbursements
- Review consolidate and prepare corporate purchasing card logs for accounting system upload ensuring accurate coding complete receipts and policy compliance
- Lead training for new cardholders and provide ongoing guidance to staff
- Process vendor invoices accounting transmittal forms and daily bank deposits
- Field and resolve building maintenance issues including coordinating service calls and repair activities
- Support fleet vehicle servicing maintenance and repair activities as needed
- Serve as backup for fleet vehicle reservations when the Fleet and Facilities Coordinator is unavailable
- Provide backup administrative support as needed including monitoring inventory levels to support daytoday operations
Skills:
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and demonstrated ability to be responsive helpful courteous and professional when working with others
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond in a flexible manner and reprioritize as situations change
- Working knowledge of bookkeeping and general accounting practices
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multi-disciplined team environment
- Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications particularly Excel
- Experience using computerized accounting or financial management systems
Experience:
- Prior experience in accounting fiscal operations or administrative support
- Strong background in providing a high level of customer service or client care
- Experience processing expense reimbursements purchasing card transactions or vendor payments preferred
