Seeking a skilled Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) for a 13-week contract assignment in Somerville Massachusetts. This is a full-time opportunity offering consistent hours in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting.
Schedule:
- 40 hours per week
- 13-week contract
Pay:
Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examination by the Ophthalmologist
- Complete thorough medical work-ups prior to provider evaluation including:
- Medical history
- Chief complaint
- Review of current medications
- Visual acuity testing
- Intraocular pressure measurement
- Perform accurate refractions
- Conduct visual field testing A-scan and corneal topography
- Assist with fundus photography
- Prepare fluorescein syringes
- Triage telephone issues and document appropriately in patient charts
- Open and close exam rooms; clean and maintain rooms as needed
- Check equipment for cleanliness and ensure biomed reviews are current
- Sterilize instruments and maintain equipment
- Assist Ophthalmologists with minor procedures and laser surgeries
- Demonstrate strong organizational skills prioritize daily workload and exercise sound judgment

- Active Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certification required
