Role Overview

We are looking for a private patient coordinator to join our Teesside site. A full-time role would be 40 hours over 5 days per week (including weekends on a rota basis) however part-time hours may be considered.

The role is a varied role however will primarily be to ensure that all of our private patients have a positive experience throughout their journey with us from the first contact to the end of their treatment pathway. This will include meeting and greeting on the day of their appointments and treatments. We aim to offer our private patients a personalised service and this role is key to ensuring that they feel supported by someone they know and trust. You will also be the central point of contact for all telephone queries in regard to private patients and for ensuring all initial enquiries and referrals are dealt with within the required KPIs. You may also cover reception duties as and when required.

We need someone who is incredibly patient focused and has the ability to provide a first class service to patients. The thought of eye surgery can be a daunting prospect for patients to deal with so all our team members need to be empathetic and friendly and able to patients at ease. Our clinics are busy so we are looking for someone who can manage a busy and varied workload.

What skills and experience do I need


  • Proven experience in an administrative role preferable within a healthcare or private services setting
  • Meticulous attention to details and organisational skills
  • Competent user of all Office 365 programmes
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work without supervision if required with the ability to work to deadlines and under pressure
  • Be comfortable discussing costs with patients and securing payments
  • An exceptional telephone manner with the ability to handle a high volume of calls professionally
  • An excellent grasp of the English language both verbally and in written format
  • A good team player and happy to support others when required
