What Youll Do
- Provide regional clinical leadership and oversight for Astrana Healths care delivery utilization management and population health programs ensuring quality efficiency and regulatory compliance across the continuum of care.
- Partner closely with the Chief Medical Officer and executive leadership team to align regional clinical operations care models and physician engagement strategies with organizational goals and value-based performance objectives.
- Lead and execute region-wide initiatives to improve clinical outcomes enhance patient experience and optimize total cost of care.
- Oversee and guide care coordination case management and transitions of care across the region to promote continuity reduce avoidable utilization and improve outcomes for complex and high-risk populations.
- Direct and support disease management and population health programs emphasizing prevention early intervention and effective chronic disease management.
- Leverage clinical data quality metrics and analytics to identify opportunities for performance improvement and implement strategies that drive measurable sustainable results.
- Serve as a clinical leader mentor and trusted partner to physicians advanced practice providers and care teams fostering collaboration accountability and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Maintain a visible and engaged clinical presence within the region by interacting with patients and frontline teams modeling excellence in care delivery and physician leadership.
- Ensure regional adherence to all clinical regulatory accreditation and payer requirements supporting audits surveys and continuous readiness.
- Represent the region in enterprise-level clinical discussions and initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree with an active unrestricted medical license in good standing.
- Board certified in a relevant specialty.
- Minimum of 10 years of clinical experience with at least 5 years in physician leadership within managed care value-based care or healthcare system operations.
- Strong understanding of managed care principles healthcare delivery systems and regulatory requirements.
- Proven experience leading clinical strategy quality improvement and performance management initiatives at a regional or system level.
- Exceptional leadership communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence across disciplines.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex clinical and operational data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
- Ability to lead inspire and align physicians and care teams in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA MHA MPH or other advanced degree.
- Experience with value-based care models population health management and risk-based contracting.
- Familiarity with healthcare technology platforms clinical informatics and data analytics tools.
Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions
- Our organization follows a hybrid work schedule where the expectation is to work 2-3 days in office. The office is located at 509 W Tidwell Suite 200 Houston TX 77091.
- The national target base salary range for this role is $250000 - $300000. Additional compensation will be part of the package for this position. Finalized compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future) experience and other job-related factors.
