Job Highlights
Youth Apprentices in our Pharmacy Assistant career pathway assist with the vital function of assuring patients receive accurate and timely prescription orders. Youll work with a pharmacy care team with an experienced professional who will serve as your mentor and will help guide your training while providing ongoing support in the role.
Job Details
Effectively work as part of a team communicate effectively with close attention to details
Maintain academic and attendance requirements for participation in the Youth Apprenticeship Program
Participate in progress reviews scheduled with mentors school staff parent(s) or guardian(s) and employer
Prepare supplies and instruments and monitor inventory while maintaining pharmacy records and other documents
Assist with placing and distributing medication and supply orders and helping customers both in person and via telephone
Provide support to pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in the packing and delivery of medications to customers in compliance with state and federal regulations
Perform other duties as assigned
Education and Experience Requirements
High school junior or senior
16 years of age
Must be authorized and approved by the Wisconsin Youth Apprentice Program in accordance with your local school criteria
Reliable transportation to get to and from work
Satisfactory progress towards graduation
Commit to completing 450 hours at the jobsite (10-15 hours per week)
Demonstrated maturity and responsibility
Skill with attending to details excellent attendance and a strong work ethic
Foster a culture of caring through interpersonal relationships and communication
