JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Title: Campus Police Department Administrative Asst. Wage/Hour Status: Nonexempt
Reports to: Principal Pay Grade: 3
Dept./School: High School Date Revised: 02/19/2026
Primary Purpose:
Provide Safety and Security practices for any visitor at the student entrance of the high school.
Assist Police Department with clerical duties as well as monitor multiple cameras for various entrances at the high school.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Proficient keyboarding skills
Effective organization communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to follow written instructions
Ability to operate multi-line phone system
Ability to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets databases and do word
processing
Knowledge of basic accounting principles
Experience:
One year secretarial experience
Experience in a public school environment is a plus.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Greet and direct campus visitors.
- Maintain visitor log and issue visitor passes.
- Provide clerical assistance to Sulphur Springs HS and SSISD Police Department.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Monitor multiple security cameras on video screen.
- Perform routine bookkeeping tasks including simple arithmetic operations to maintain department budget records.
- Prepare and process purchase orders.
- Any other duties assigned by Principal or Police Chief.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None.
Equipment Used:
Multi-line phone system computer and raptor.
Working Conditions:
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Maintain emotional control under stress; work with frequent interruptions. Continuous sitting.
