Essential Job Functions
The Office Specialist - Front Desk (Main Street Clinic) must be able to perform the following essential job functions:
- Gather client and insurance information efficiently and accurately.
- Request collect and process co-payments and other payments from clients at the time of service.
- Convey all necessary information related to the clients appointment.
- Work within DBHs electronic medical record system and have a working knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy laws.
- Answer telephones screen calls take messages and provide information to the appropriate source when necessary.
- Monitor the work area including the clinic lobby to ensure that it remains safe secure professional and well-maintained.
- Be knowledgeable about the crisis system and know when and how to activate it.
- Perform basic office operations including signing for and coordinating pickup of delivered packages communicating with other DBH employees about appointments and appointments and other tasks related to daily business functions.
- Other duties and responsibilities and needed and assigned.
- All other duties as assigned related to the needs of the organization.
The clinical support staff at DBH provide the first impression for its clients and play an important role in helping clients who may be struggling with their mental health which is why providing excellent customer service in a prompt manner is critical.

The schedule for this position is:
- Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with a 30-minute lunch
The Main Street Clinic is located at 934 South Main Street Layton Utah 84041.
Required Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Certification/Licensure
- Must complete First Aid and CPR certification within 30 days of hire.
Training
- Complete all required training that is assigned to the Office Specialist Front Desk (Main Street Clinic) position by defined deadlines.
Experience Required
- Minimum of two (2) years of previous work experience in a medical office.
Preferred
- Previous work experience in a behavioral health clinic or agency.

Compensation
- Starting pay for this position is $18.25 per hour.
