ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Program Manager Delivery Performance this position is responsible for providing support on the management of financial and schedule data within the project management systems for use in the branch and department-wide reporting in alignment with corporate requirements. Identifies project and portfolio status by comparing and analyzing results with plans and forecasts. Supports project scheduling and planning. Interfaces project milestones with project budgets and supports achieving cash flow forecasting through forecasting. Leads training and builds capacity in project teams. Gathers and develops business requirements and functionality for data management and reporting to meet business objectives. Maintains cost database by verifying cost data for the purpose of cost estimating.

WHAT YOULL BE DOING

  • Supports project teams in the development of project schedules for capital delivery projects.
  • Integrates multiple schedules into an overall project schedule as needed.
  • Recognizes risks and issues related to project timelines and provides recommendations to projects teams and external partners for mitigation plans into schedules.
  • Tracks progress of projects throughout workflow stages and baselines schedules at key stages for each project for data and reporting consistency.
  • Determines project and portfolio status by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts.
  • Analyzes project schedules to verify schedule integrity and ensure consistent scheduling techniques are being applied.
  • Analyzes schedule variance data and provides reports on project and portfolio trends.
  • Supports project schedule workshops project planning meetings and/or project status meetings as required by the project teams.
  • Responds to inquiries and resolves concerns as appropriate.
  • Ensures that services provided meet Regional customer service standards.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR

  • Successful completion of a Community College Diploma or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum three (3) years experience providing project financial and/or schedule analysis in any or all aspects of engineering system planning design and construction or support in data management systems data integrity and project management.
  • Sound knowledge of financial systems data tracking report generation cost estimation project management software and infrastructure delivery.
  • Knowledge of civil works and demonstrated understanding of construction task sequencing.
  • Analytical skills to analyze schedule logic identify issues and to design develop and implement recommended solutions.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project management concepts.
  • Experience in developing and delivering training sessions and materials relating to scheduling and/or project management.
  • Advance skills in MS Office and use of virtual platform. Knowledge in Project Server Project Professional Share Point SQL and business intelligence software such as Power BI Tableau etc.
