Position Summary:
The CNA Walk-In supports clinic operations by assisting nursing staff and providers with direct patient care routine procedures and clinical workflows in a fast-paced walk-in environment. This role works closely with a collaborative care team to help ensure efficient patient flow while delivering care with accuracy compassion and professionalism. Strong communication adaptability and attention to detail are essential as the CNA supports basic clinical tasks and contributes to a positive patient-centered experience. The position follows established clinic standards and safety practices with weekend and holiday rotations required as part of departmental scheduling.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists providers and nursing staff with patient care tasks including vital signs room preparation patient intake and routine clinical procedures.
- Supports activities of daily living and provides basic patient assistance under the direction of an RN LPN nurse manager or provider.
- Facilitates patient flow in a busy Walkin clinic setting helping manage wait times room turnover and timely communication with clinical staff.
- Performs point of care duties as required once certified including assisting with testing procedures during the orientation period.
- Documents patient information accurately in the electronic medical record and follows privacy confidentiality and clinic protocol standards.
- Maintains a clean and safe environment by stocking supplies preparing exam rooms and following infection prevention and safety guidelines.
Licenses and Certifications Required:
- Current Certified Nursing Assistant registration by state of North Dakota.
- CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
- Ongoing point of care certifications as required for department required within orientation period.
Educational Requirements:
Experience Requirements:
- 2 years of experience as a certified nursing assistant preferred.
- 1 year clinic experience preferred. Medical terminology preferred.
- Phlebotomy experience preferred.
Special Skills or Training Requirements:
- Computer use
- Schedule to include weekend and holiday rotation.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires frequent walking standing bending and assisting with patient mobility throughout the clinic day. CNAs must be able to lift move or support up to 35-50 pounds while helping patients with activities of daily living or positioning for procedures. Fine motor skills manual dexterity and the ability to operate clinical equipment efficiently are necessary. The role also demands sustained attention to detail clear communication and the ability to perform tasks quickly and safely in a fast paced environment.

Work is performed in a clinical outpatient environment with regular exposure to cleaning agents bodily fluids and frequent patient interactions. The walk in setting can be fast paced requiring the ability to prioritize tasks under time constraints and adapt to fluctuating patient volumes. The position also requires flexibility to work weekends holidays and varying shifts based on departmental needs. Adherence to infection control protocols safety guidelines and professional conduct expectations is essential in all clinical spaces.
