Job Summary:

The Department of Orthopedics at the University of Colorado is seeking an experienced board-certified Podiatrist. All candidates must have completed a 3-year residency have an interest in developing a clinical practice and research endeavors and participate in our resident/fellowship education program. Interest in Wound Care is a strong plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Treat bone muscle and joint disorders affecting the feet.

  • Treat conditions such as corns calluses ingrown nails tumors shortened tendons bunions cysts and abscesses by surgical methods.

  • Treat conditions such as osteomyelitis necrotizing fasciitis or chronic infected wounds through surgical intervention.

  • Educate patients about the benefits of foot care.

  • Advise patients about treatments and foot care techniques necessary for prevention of future problems.

  • Manage diabetic foot conditions.

  • Correct deformities by means of custom orthoses plaster casts and/or strapping in conjunction with an orthotist.

  • Diagnose diseases and deformities of the foot using medical histories physical examinations x-rays and laboratory test results.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Board Certification by the ABPM or ABFAS as a Doctor of Podiatric Medicine

  • Completion of a three-year residency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an academic setting.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Interest in establishing a clinical practice.

  • Strong interest/Fellowship in Wound Care and Amputation Prevention.

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the Universitys good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation.
