Job Summary
Group and Team: Community and Economic Development - Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre
Location: Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre
Employment status:Temporary - Full-time for 15 Months (Maternity Leave Cover)
Classification: Municipal OfficerLevel 2
Agreement: Hobart City Council Enterprise Agreement 2024
Salary range: $74667 to $76699 per annum 13.5% superannuation.
About the role
- Oversee daily café operations including service quality staff supervision and efficient rostering.
- Manage stock levels menu offerings and cost control to meet operational and budget targets.
- Maintain a high standard of café cleanliness food safety and WHS compliance ensuring safe operating procedures are followed.
- Monitor equipment and supplier performance addressing maintenance or service issues promptly.
- Provide clear leadership to café staff supporting consistent service delivery and continuous improvement.
- Analyse sales and stock data to guide business decisions contribute to budget planning and identify opportunities to enhance café presentation and offerings.

The ideal candidate will have strong organisational skills and a knack for keeping operations running smoothly balancing quality and efficiency with ease.

The role requires someone who is passionate about food safety strives to provide high quality food options and is always looking to continuously improve their ways of working. The team is looking for someone who looks for smarter ways to work and has fresh ideas to elevate the café experience.
Essential Qualifications & Licences for the role
- Relevant qualification in Retail Operations or Commercial Cookery with demonstrated experience supervising and leading a team in a café or similar hospitality environment
- Current Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
- Current Driver Licence
- Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP)
