Job Summary

TR Labs is building a new function to incubatecompelling AI solutions that solve real problems inside Thomson Reuters andhavestrongpotentialas commercial products for enterprise customers.Werelooking for astrategictechnologyleadertostandup an internal incubation model where applied scientists andengineershelp the businessworkshop innovative ideasiteratequicklywith internaluserstoprovevalueandultimatelydevelopworkingsolutions that canscale.

This individualbrings the right mix of technical acumen commercial experience and a passion for leading highly visible and complex projects/initiatives who can pivotquicklyfromconceptdevelopment to tactical problem-solving.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Labs and as the lead for Labstechnology venturesteam you will:

  • Run asolutionsengineering function that doubles as a discovery pipeline.Lead cross-functional workshops and short-term engagements for promising AI use cases thatdontyet have committedcapital. Usethese engagements toidentifythe internal problems most worth incubating.

  • Incubate AI products with internal-to-external commercial potential.Identifyhigh-value use cases where TR faces the same challenges as our customersin areas such ascorporate M&A regulatory intelligenceandcompliance automation.Operate as aninternalstartup incubator co-developingsolutionsin close partnershipwith invested internal users. Collaborate and partner withTR ventureswhere it makes sense.

  • Lead AI due diligence for M&A.Serve as the front door for technical AI assessment across TRs acquisition portfolioevaluating targets AI capabilities architectures data assets and integration complexity.Providetechnical leadership surrounding integration estimates and synergies associated with potentialacquisitions.Translatefindings intostrategic recommendations for deal teams and senior leadership.

  • Lead science and engineering teams supporting theRisk Fraud and Complianceproduct line.Be intimately aware of their priorities and strategy.Identifysynergiesto incubaterelatedAI capabilitiesfor this segment and adjacentmarkets

About You

The ideal candidate for the Vice President Technology and M&A will possess the following:

  • Masters degree in Computer Science Machine Learning or related field or aBachelorsdegree with equivalent practical experience.

  • A minimum of12 years in technology roles with progressive responsibility beginning with hands-on engineering or architecture

  • Experience building and leading cross-functional teams acting as a change agent driving continuous improvement and excellence

  • Direct experience withproductionAI/ML systemsfrom prototype through deployment and scaling

  • Experience evaluating or integrating technology through M&A technical due diligence or strategic partnerships. Able to produce clear relevantandaccuraterecommendations.

  • Expertisein cloud platforms and modern infrastructure for AI workloads at enterprise scale

  • Proven ability to bridge technology product and business strategycomfortableat all levels of the organization able to communicate clearlywith sales teams product leadership and deep technical practitioners.

  • Experience in legal risk compliance or adjacent regulated domains is a strong plus
