This is a site-based role in Brendale QLD based on a 2 Year Fixed Term Contract.

The Contracts Administrator will be responsible for the effective administration of both the Head Contract and all project subcontracts on a medium-scale and complex Equipment project. This role requires strong commercial acumen attention to detail and the ability to manage contractual obligations risks and opportunities across multiple project stakeholders. The successful candidate will work closely with project management Contracts Manager engineering under the guidance of Regional Contracts Manager and legal team to ensure compliance with contractual requirements optimise project outcomes and protect the companys commercial position.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Administer and manage all aspects of the Head Contract ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and deliverables.
  • Monitor and manage project entitlements including variations extensions of time (EOTs) claims and notices in accordance with contract requirements.
  • Manage subcontractor claims variations progress payments and final accounts.
  • Draft and review subcontract agreements ensuring alignment with Head Contract requirements and project risk profile.
  • Lead resolution of subcontractor variations and commercial issues.
  • Ensure subcontractor performance complies with contractual safety and project requirements.
  • Prepare submit and negotiate contractual correspondence and claims with the client.
  • Maintain accurate contract registers correspondence logs and records.
  • Provide commercial and contractual advice to the Project Director Project Manager and broader project team.
  • Identify and assess potential contractual and commercial risks recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of cost risk and contract status to senior management.
  • Support project forecasting budgeting and cashflow management through effective contract administration.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract management processes and systems.

Qualifications Requirements & Experience

  • At least 4 years experience in a Contracts Administrator or similar commercial role within construction infrastructure or equipment projects
  • Strong knowledge of standard form contracts
  • Proven experience managing variations EOTs claims and subcontract administration
  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite (Excel Word PowerPoint)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
