Woodstock Union High School and Middle School is seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Principal to join our leadership team. This role is crucial for supporting the Principal in the overall administration of the school including developing and managing systems for student engagement behavior and support; overseeing school operations and logistics; and supervising and evaluating educators. The successful candidate will be deeply committed to fostering a nurturing and inclusive educational environment that aligns with our Portrait of a Graduate and Strategic Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Educational Leadership: Collaborate with the Principal in setting educational goals and standards; support the development and implementation of instructional strategies and curricular initiatives that enhance teaching and learning.
- Champion of School Culture: Brings positivity and enthusiasm to the workplace encouraging a joyful and collaborative school environment.
- Student Engagement and Welfare: Develop and manage effective strategies for student engagement behavior and support ensuring a safe respectful and inclusive school environment for all students.
- School Operations and Logistics: Oversee the smooth operation of the school including scheduling resource allocation maintenance of facilities and safety protocols.
- Educator Supervision and Evaluation: Supervise and evaluate teachers and other instructional staff providing feedback and support for professional growth and development.
- Community and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with students staff families and community members to build strong partnerships and promote the schools mission and goals.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead efforts to assess and evaluate school programs and practices making data-informed decisions to drive continuous improvement.
- Crisis Management: Prepare for and respond to crises in a manner that ensures the safety and well-being of students and staff.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Education or related field.
- Valid Educator License with administrative endorsement.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership preferably in middle and/or high school settings.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions.
- Deep understanding of and experience with current educational practices standards and regulations.
