Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement current bargaining unit employees have priority consideration for this position if they apply within seven (7) days of the posting date. After this period all applicants will be considered equally.
This is a night shift position. 10 hours per night shift. 70 hours per pay period
Primary Shift: 2100-0730
Secondary Shifts:
Must achieve Pharmacy Technician Certification within 1 year of hire date.
GENERAL SUMMARY:
Each Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the pharmacists in the various functions of the Department including dispensing and order filling responsibilities compounding both sterile and non-sterile medications inventory controls and prepackaging.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Skills Required:
1. High School Diploma is required.
2. Valid National Pharmacy Technician Certification from a nationally accredited pharmacy technician
certification program is required
3. Registration with the New York Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacy Technician is required
4. Hospital pharmacy or community pharmacy experience preferred but not required.
As applicable the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
