- Position summary:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
  - Associate degree required (experience beyond the below requirements may be substituted for education)
- Required length and type of experience:
  - Minimum of two (2) years experience in hospital inpatient or outpatient coding and/or billing is required. Experience may include internship/job training.
  - Experience with electronic medical record systems required (Cerner Epic or similar).
  - Excellent computer skills including experience with Microsoft Excel & Word encoders and billing software required.
  - Basic knowledge of charging billing and medical necessity is required.
- Required licensure certification or registry:
  - AHIMA or AAPC certification is required.
  - AHIMA Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Administrator (RHIA) preferred.
