Job Summary
Job Summary:The maintenance supervisoroversees building and equipment upkeep by leading and training a team of technicians to conduct preventive maintenance perform repairs and manage daily operations to ensure functionality and duties include developing maintenance procedures managing staff controlling budgets and inventory ensuring compliance with safety regulations like OSHA and coordinating with vendors for supplies and external role requires strong leadership technical knowledge and excellent communication skills to bridge between maintenance staff and Functions of the Job: Safety Compliance:Ensure all operations adhere to relevant health safety and environmental regulations such as those from OSHAPreventive Maintenance Programs:Develop and implement plans for preventive maintenance to minimize equipment downtime and maximize productivityAssist Planner with scheduling Downtime Work Orders and PMsTeam Leader:Recruit train and manage maintenance staff assigning tasks evaluate performance and providing ongoing guidanceMaintenance & Repair Oversight:Coordinate and supervise the installation maintenance and repair of machinery equipment and systemsSystems:Ability to manage and improve CMMS specific to BOMs PMs and Job DescriptionsEnsure the accurate recording of all maintenance activities within CMMS including equipment history repairs and maintenance costsInventory & Budget Management:Oversee inventory of tools parts and equipment and contribute to the maintenance budgetVendor & Contractor Coordination:Work with external vendors and contractors to ensure the timely and cost-effective completion of maintenance tasksSupervisory Responsibilities:Maintenance TechniciansPlannersKnowledge & Skills:Leadership & Communication:Ability to motivate a team delegate tasks effectively and communicate technical information clearlyAbility to hold technicians accountable with professionalism and respectAbility to teach and coach food safety specific to maintenance activitiesProblem-Solving:Aptitude for identifying issues recommending solutions and resolving maintenance-related problemsOrganizational Skills:Ability to plan schedule and coordinate maintenance activities and manage resources efficientlyTechnical Proficiency:Strong understanding of maintenance procedures for various equipment and systemsAudit quality of work performed to educate and elevate standardsAttention to Detail:Essential for conducting thorough inspections maintaining accurate records and ensuring quality workmanshipOther:Must be willing to work any shift weekends and holidays as needed to support factory shutdowns startups and capital project assignmentsFeatured benefitsMedical insuranceDental insuranceVision insurancePaid Family leavePaid maternity leave401(k) with MatchVoluntary Life Accident Critical Illness and Hospital indemnityPaid HolidaysTuition assistanceShort-term and Long-term Disability insuranceAdditional Considerations:This position will be at the SunOpta Plant in Omak Plant is a 24/7 operation with 3 -conventional work week which will include occasional off-shift work to provide support to all note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
