In the role of Commercial Manager you will support Caterpillar Resource Industries Sales Services and Technologies (RISST) Electrification by collaborating directly with customers to assess their goals challenges and opportunities in advancing greenhouse gas reduction initiatives.

Cat Dynamic Energy Transfer (DET) is a fully Caterpillar-developed system that can transfer energy to both diesel-electric and battery-electric large mining trucks while they are working around a mine site. It can also charge a machines batteries while operating with increased speed on grade improving operational efficiency and machine uptime.

The Resource Industries Sales Services & Technology (RISST) team seeks an Electrification Commercial Manager. This position is in Santiago Chile.

What you will do:
As an Electrification Commercial Manager at Caterpillar you will be responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities for customers looking to reduce their Green House Gas Footprint as well as develop and manage relationships between internal customers Caterpillar dealers and end-users. This position is the one safe source for customer communications and customer relations related to Caterpillars Resource Industries electrification strategy.
- Single point of contact for electrification discussions with customers dealers and internal business partners
- Develop and manage Customer Relationships (Internal and external)
- Conduct weekly and monthly meetings with Product Groups and Dealers to discuss product Quality - Delivery and Build Performance
- Represent Caterpillar when dealing with important customer (end-user) issues.
- Business Development (new and existing products)
- Work with internal product groups to identify customer needs as they transition to reduced greenhouse gas operations.
- Grow existing product volumes by working with Product and Marketing Groups
- Through working with Product Groups establish marketing forecasts and business plans and derive product build plans with operations
- Provide supervision and technical direction to staff and support personnel engaged in product process design
- Negotiate and manage contract development with customers related to electrification offerings
- Represent the organization on various internal committees i.e. Engineering Standards etc.
- Represent Division at the Senior Management level
- Sponsor implementation of corporate initiatives

What skills you will have:
- Industry Knowledge:
Knowledge of the mining industry and equipment. Extensive experience in mining simulation sales support or engineering.
- Customer Focus: Knowledge of the values and practices that align customer needs and satisfaction as primary considerations in all business decisions and ability to leverage that information in creating customized customer solutions. Ability to interpret technical information and translate it into customer-focused solutions.
- Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit receive and accurately interpret ideas information and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.
- Relationship Management: Knowledge of relationship management techniques; ability to establish and maintain healthy working relationships with clients vendors and peers.

Basic Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • English Advanced

  • Experience in the industry (mining heavy equipment electrification or related industries.

  • Proven experience in commercial roles business development key account management or strategic customer leadership.

  • Experience managing relationships with dealers

Top Candidates will also have:

  • Experience in Mining fields

  • Experience in Commercial fields

  • Experience with Energy Transfer or Electrification fields

  • Fluent in Spanish

  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing or developing commercial contracts.

Additional Information:

  • Ability/willingness to travel 50%

  • This position requires a 5day onsite work schedule.
