A hospital and Level I Trauma Center located in Kansas City MO is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) for its Ortho/Neuro Trauma Med-Surg unit.
The hospital provides comprehensive medical services including emergency care stroke services cardiovascular programs womens health orthopedics and specialty trauma care. The facility is part of a well-established multi-hospital healthcare system serving the Kansas City metropolitan area.
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) ensures and delivers high-quality patient-centered care while coordinating all clinical and operational functions within the unit during the designated shift.
In collaboration with the leadership team the CNC directs monitors and evaluates nursing care in accordance with established policies and procedures. This role serves as a clinical resource for staff and supports a patient-first philosophy to enhance both clinical outcomes and overall departmental performance.
Assist with admission and discharge processes to ensure efficient patient throughput.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing assessment of patient care services.
Collaborate with leadership and subject matter experts to promote teamwork and improved outcomes.
Support patient satisfaction initiatives and service recovery when necessary.
Promote staff engagement strategies including employee rounding and hourly patient rounds.
Provide input on interviewing hiring onboarding and training of new staff.
Support staff development conflict resolution performance evaluations and policy compliance.
Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources according to patient care needs.
Support inventory control and management of supplies and equipment.
Ensure compliance with hospital standards regulatory requirements and clinical best practices.
Strong current acute care Med-Surg experience required.
Preferred: Previous experience as a Charge RN in an acute care Med-Surg unit
OR
Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a staff RN in Med-Surg.
Experience must be recent and actively practiced.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (RN Diploma required).
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Active RN license in Missouri or compact license eligibility.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) Required within 30 days of hire.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Required within 30 days of hire.
Participation in professional nursing organizations encouraged.
Salary Range: $35.65 $47.64 per hour
(Maximum range considered for candidates with approximately 18 years of experience)
