The Position:

AMEWAS is seeking a highly motivated and talented Security Specialist (JSE)-Junior to support Advanced Aircraft Research Development Test & Evaluation. The salary range of this position is $60000.00 - $71000.00 and is commensurate with experience. This position is not eligible for remote work; on-site support is required.

Position Background:

The Digital Analytics Infrastructure and Technology Advancement (DAiTA) Group is at the cutting edge of Advanced Aircraft Research Development Test and Evaluation (AARDT&E). Our state-of-the-art laboratories are equipped to work seamlessly together enabling comprehensive testing and evaluation of aircraft and weapons systems across the Department of Defense. What sets the DAiTA Group apart is our exceptional ability to mitigate program risks by crafting intricate battlespace environments where cutting-edge concepts advanced hardware and skilled warfighters can dive into the missions of both today and the future. The Integrated Battlespace Simulation and Test (IBST) Department is at the heart of this innovative ecosystem. This team is the driving force behind the research development management design documentation fabrication installation integration testing evaluation operation and maintenance of the Air Combat Environment Test Facility (ACETEF) and other DAiTA AARDT&E capabilities laboratories and facilities. With IBST at the helm were not just preparing for the future but shaping it.

A typical day as a Security Specialist (JSE)-Junior may include:

  • Meets the requirements of DoD 5205.07 (Volumes 1-4) for one or more Special Access Programs (SAP) within the Combined Security Office (CSO)
  • Initiates processes and tracks personnel security actions (Personnel Access Requests (PARs) nominations for employees to special programs foreign travel contact reports briefings debriefings etc.)
  • Provides visitor escort as needed
  • Interfaces with customer counterparts in a tactful diplomatic and professional manner
  • Creates needed procedures for the secure and successful execution of assigned program(s)
  • Administers and controls classified material following the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM)
  • Performs media destruction and inventories
  • Plans and supervises the building and accreditation of secure facilities following Intelligence Community Directive 705

Must-haves:

  • BS Degree
  • 1 year of relevant work experience
  • 1 year of administrative experience
  • Willingness to work in a secure environment with limited to no access to personal electronic devices
  • Experience with MS Suite to include Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook
  • The ability to obtain and maintain SAP and/or SCI access as required
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a DoD (Top) Secret Security Clearance-Holds final Secret eligibility

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with JADE
  • Experience with the application of the U.S. Government security standards of 32 Code of Federal Regulation Part 117 NISPOM Intelligence Community Directives Security Executive Agent Directives and the DoD SAP Security Manual 5205.07 (Volumes 1- 4)
  • Experience with the application of the ICD-705 Technical Specifications (intrusion detection systems access control devices TEMPEST requirements drawings/specifications etc.)
  • Understanding of advanced security principles and government special security regulations

Physical Environment and Working Conditions:

The physical environment for this position requires the employee to work in a chamber for a majority of their day on site versus in an office. The physical environment also requires the employee to work in an office sitting in a cubicle or at a desk looking at a computer for part of the day.

The employee may be required to travel short distances to offices/conference rooms and buildings on site or near the work site. On rare occasions overnight travel may be required.

The employee is required to stand walk and/or move throughout the workday often bending over and lifting items up to approximately 50 lbs.
