About The Role
HUB International is seeking a motivated and client-focused Account Executive to join our Commercial Lines team in Ontario.
This role is responsible for developing and growing a portfolio of mid-market commercial clients by delivering tailored insurance and risk management solutions. The ideal candidate is a strong relationship builder with a proven track record in business development and a solid understanding of commercial insurance products.
As part of a collaborative team environment you will work closely with account managers technical specialists and carrier partners to support both new business growth and client retention.
What Youll Do
Business Development
Prospect develop and close new mid-market commercial accounts.
Build and manage a consistent sales pipeline to achieve revenue and growth targets.
Identify opportunities to provide comprehensive multi-line insurance solutions including property liability automobile cyber and other specialty coverages.
Develop referral sources and maintain strong professional networks within the Ontario business community.
Collaborate with internal teams to maximize cross-selling opportunities.
Client Management
Act as a trusted advisor to commercial clients providing strategic guidance on risk management and insurance program design.
Participate in renewal planning coverage reviews and client strategy discussions alongside service teams.
Stay informed on market conditions underwriting trends and regulatory developments affecting Ontario businesses.
Support long-term client retention through proactive engagement and responsive service.
Carrier & Market Engagement
Maintain productive relationships with insurance carriers and underwriters.
Negotiate terms and structure competitive solutions to meet client needs.
Represent HUB in the marketplace through networking and industry involvement.
Qualifications and expertise that pave the way for Success
5 years of commercial insurance experience with a strong focus on new business development and relationship management.
RIBO license or ability to obtain quickly
Proven success building a profitable mid-market book of business within Ontarios commercial sector.
Strong understanding of commercial P&C coverages and underwriting principles across diverse industries.
Established market presence and network of referral partners.
Excellent interpersonal negotiation and presentation skills.
Self-starter with an entrepreneurial approach and commitment to collaboration.
CIP CAIB or CRM designations are considered an asset.

The compensation for this position is a variable compensation structure i.e. discretionary draw plus commission. As such the total compensation earned will vary depending on the successful candidates book of business at a particular time. The expected draw plus commission will be impacted by factors such as the successful candidates skills experience andworking location as well as the specific positions business line scope and to the variable nature of this sales-based compensation structure more definitive prospective information is not possible.
