Our Environment Group is seeking for Terrestrial Flora Specialist that will work on projects for a range of public and private sector clients undertaking impact and risk assessments ecological monitoring and conservation-based projects. Undertaking searches of government ecological databases and preparing ecological assessments. Preparing technical reports to support applied conservation survey and monitoring projects planning permit applications referrals and environmental assessments.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical services relating to terrestrial flora ecology for various projects
- Lead conduct of terrestrial flora ecology related works
- Prepare terrestrial flora ecology related reports for Impact Assessment works and for other biodiversity studies and monitoring works
- Write and consolidate reports into an integrative and cohesive document that meets the expectations of the proponent the regulatory authority as well as GHDs high standard of quality
- Assist team members in facilitating and documenting related stakeholder engagement works (e.g. key informant interview focus group discussion etc.)
- Assist team members in preparation of reports and proposals
- Assist team members in facilitating permitting deliverables
Education
- Tertiary qualification in ecology environmental science or similar discipline
Experience
- General Experience: At least 3 - 5 years relevant work experience as a terrestrial flora ecologist in public and private development projects and consulting experience
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- High level of expertise and ability in producing well-written reports and proposals
- Strong teamwork skills a team player
- Good people relationship and networking skills
- Focus on client service
- Ability to manage several projects at once and determine priorities
- Consulting experience is desirable but not essential
- Proven experience in proposal development and project management is desirable but not essential.
