A nationally recognized hospital in Dallas Texas is seeking an experienced Nurse Manager Medical ICU (MICU) to lead its Adult Critical Care team.
This advanced academic-style medical center offers comprehensive adult and pediatric services state-of-the-art technology and a highly specialized physician network. The hospital serves as a regional and national referral center delivering complex high-acuity care across multiple specialties.
Position Summary
The Nurse Manager of Critical Care (MICU) is responsible for planning organizing delegating directing and evaluating services delivered within the Medical ICU.
This leader ensures that patient care delivery aligns with the hospitals mission vision and performance standards. The Nurse Manager collaborates closely with physicians interdisciplinary leaders and executive leadership to enhance quality safety operational efficiency and patient outcomes within the 16-bed Medical ICU.

Unit: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
Beds: 16
FTEs Supervised: Approximately 45
Reports To: Director of Critical Care
Scope: Medical ICU only
Responsibilities
Clinical & Quality Leadership
Oversee daily operations and clinical performance of the Medical ICU.
Ensure evidence-based practice and compliance with regulatory standards.
Monitor and improve quality metrics patient safety indicators and patient experience scores.
Develop and implement policies procedures and improvement initiatives in collaboration with medical staff.
Operational Management
Plan and manage staffing models productivity and scheduling.
Maintain effective communication across interdisciplinary teams.
Ensure regulatory readiness and adherence to accreditation standards.
Support throughput initiatives and critical care performance goals.
Leadership & Team Development
Provide mentorship coaching and performance management to ICU staff.
Foster a collaborative team-focused environment.
Support professional development and succession planning.
Promote engagement initiatives and retention strategies.
Strategic Collaboration
Partner with Critical Care leadership and hospital administration to advance service line objectives.
Drive initiatives related to quality regulatory excellence and patient-centered care.
Support innovative care delivery tactics and operational improvements.
Qualifications
Education
Experience
Minimum 2 years of recent (within the last year) acute care leadership experience in Critical Care required
Preferably 2 years of ICU leadership experience
Charge Nurse experience alone will not be considered; higher-level leadership experience required
Licensure & Certifications
Current RN license in Texas or compact state
Current BLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
Current ACLS certification (AHA or American Red Cross)
CCRN and/or CNRN preferred
Compensation & Benefits
Salary Range:
Minimum: $84849
Midpoint: $106059
Maximum: $127274
(Compensation heavily based on years and depth of leadership experience)
Sign-On Bonus: Case-by-case basis
