About the role:
We are seeking an exceptional Data Scientist II to join our Central Data team. This role will report to the Director Data Science & Analytics. This role is critical to shaping Garners Product & Growth strategy - from evaluating the impact of our products to building models that drive engagement. You will collaborate with data product & engineering to improve the effectiveness of Garners member facing product e.g. answering questions like what features of our product drive engagement What is the best time of day and channel to outreach to members or What data concepts do we need to build out to improve our understanding of what drives someone to engage with Garner Your work will directly impact our member-facing products and inform strategic product decisions.
Where you will work:
This role will be based in our New York City office. You must be willing to work in the office 3 days per week on Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.
What you will do:
- Identify and measure success of product efforts through goal setting AB testing forecasting and monitoring of key product metrics to understand trends
- Own projects end to end including problem definition implementation validation & iteration
- Research develop and maintain data pipelines statistical models and advanced analytical solutions including AI & machine learning models
- Collaborate cross-functionally with data scientists product leaders engineering & operations teams to shape how we define product & member engagement metrics apply statistical rules and model member behavior
- Synthesize & present your work to Garner leadership to drive company level decisions
- Contribute to improving data science practices tooling and documentation
What you will bring to the team:
- 2 years of experience in data science applied analytics or a related quantitative field (industry academia or both)
- 2 years of experience using SQL and Python and/or R to query analyze and manipulate data
- 2 years of experience building data models using more advanced analytics methods statistical modeling and/or data processing
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to present information and analysis results effectively
- A demonstrated ability to independently solve difficult problems and deliver high quality results to senior stakeholders
- A willingness to roll up your sleeves and do whatever is necessary to ensure company success ideally in a startup environment
- A desire to be a part of a high-performing mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency a strong sense of individual accountability and a commitment to authentic feedback

Compensation Transparency:
The target salary range for this position is $158000 - $175000. Individual compensation for this role will depend on various factors including qualifications skills and applicable addition to base compensation this role is eligible to participate in our equity incentive and competitive benefits plans including but not limited to: flexible PTO Medical/Dental/Vision plan options 401(k) Teladoc Health and more.
