Responsibilities
Prepare cytology slides and cell block preparations from Non Gynecologic Specimens for microscopic examination and diagnosis by Cytotechnicians Cytopathologists and Pathologists. Perform pre-analytical procedures including labeling preparing aliquots specimen processing laboratory waste disposal and decontamination of laboratory areas.
Qualifications
- High school diploma equivalent education (GED) or post-secondary education
PREFERRED:
- Two (2) years experience as a Cytology Preparations Technician in a clinical or pathology laboratory highly preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in the use and application of computers.
- Ability to understand and apply accurate procedures in specimen handling and clerical processing.
- Good communication and organizational skills with demonstrated ability to provide accurate information and instructions.
- Strong computer keyboarding skills.
