Job Summary
The Assistant Dean will work with the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs in the oversight of student services student advising and student promotions. The Assistant Dean for Student Affairs will be engaged with students in all phases of the process that leads to the successful completion of the medical addition the Assistant Dean will be involved in career advising and mentoring of students as they progress through the residency application and selection process.
This position will be appointed at the rank of Associate or Full Professor commensurate with experience and accomplishments and is a 100% administrative position.
Essential Functions
- Provide individual support and advising to students in the College of Medicine.
- Participate in the coordination of student services Serve as an Administrative Liaison along with the Senior Associate Dean for Student Affairs to the Student Promotions Committees.
- Participate in career advising and student advising for the residency match.
- Participate as a member of the Professionalism Committee of the College of Medicine Serve as an Administrative Liaison to the Professionalism Advisory Board.
- Prepare Medical Student Performance Evaluations for senior medical students.
- Work collaboratively with the Office of the Registrar Financial Aid and Bursar.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Academic Enrichment and the Director of Student Mental Health Services.
- Participate on the Admissions Committee the Curriculum Committees and the Student Wellness Committee Interview candidates for medical school admissions Participate in ad hoc task forces as appropriate
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of a Medical Doctor (MD)
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience.

- Typically sitting at a desk/table
- Typically standing walking
