About Our Opportunity

Are you a skilled developer looking to make a meaningful impact through public service Join our team as an Developer where you will contribute to the development and support of a large-scale custom-built application that helps deliver essential services to citizens. You will work in a collaborative agile environment alongside experienced professionals with opportunities to grow your technical skills and contribute to high-impact projects.

The successful candidate will collaborate with other developers on the team to support a large custom application using primarily and Oracle PL/SQL. They will also contribute to regularly scheduled projects that will enhance and expand capabilities and services that align with business needs and government standards.

Primary Accountabilities

• Develop and maintain components of a major government application using and Oracle PL/SQL.
• Participate in agile development cycles to enhance system functionality and improve user experience.
• Collaborate with senior developers product managers and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions.
• Write secure maintainable and high-quality code tests and documentation.
• Support production operations and troubleshoot issues to ensure system reliability.
• Contribute to data migration conversion and extraction tasks using SQL.
• Assist in implementing API integrations with other government systems.
• Participate in code reviews and design discussions to improve solution quality.
• Learn and apply government standards for security accessibility and performance.
• Engage in continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Qualifications and Experience

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in information technology and a minimum of three (3) years of related experience.
  OR
• Graduation from a recognized Information Technology program and a minimum of three and a half (3.5) years of related experience.
  OR
• An equivalent combination of education training and experience.
  
  

Technical Skills:

• Proficient HTML5 CSS3 JavaScript JSON and Razor Pages ( Core).
• Experience with relational databases such as Oracle or Microsoft SQL and PL/SQL or T-SQL.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented principles design patterns and responsive UI/UX design.
• Familiarity with microservices REST/SOAP APIs and integration architectures.
• Exposure to tools like Ansible SonarQube Jenkins Bamboo.
• Experience working in Agile environments using tools like Azure DevOps JIRA GitHub GitLab.

Core Competencies:

• Strong written and verbal communication skills (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong attention to detail and adaptability to changing priorities.
• Effective time management and ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Comfortable working remotely using Microsoft 365 Teams Skype Zoom and other collaboration tools.

Additional Information

This is a TERM employment opportunity with anticipated end date ofApril 1 2027. The appointment status (term temporary or casual) is dependent on the start date of the successful candidate.
