The Henderson Food is Medicine Internship Program supports The Farm at Trinity Health Oakland. This paid internship scheduled for up to 40 hours per week for 20 weeks is an integral part of Trinity Healths Food is Medicine Programs. This position offers part-time scheduling flexibility to accommodate an academic schedule during the spring and fall months with the ideal candidate working full-time between May and August.
The Farm works to grow a healthy community by empowering people through food education and relationships. Our interns learn sustainable agriculture practices; how to interact with community members of all backgrounds; communication skills; and educational material development.
The Agriculture and Community Health Internship can be adapted depending on the interns professional interests offering specialties in agriculture and education; all Henderson Food is Medicine Interns will grow and learn in a variety of meaningful ways:
Actively participate in all aspects of sustainable vegetable production the Farm Share and additional programming needs
Work with Farm volunteers of all ages
Develop and implement supplemental educational offerings (e.g. cooking classes recipe samples)
Create educational materials to accompany vegetables distributed to clinics and Farm Share members (e.g. vegetable storage tips information about Farm programming healthy recipes)
