The Data Governanceteamestablishesbusiness accountability for knowing what their critical data is where it is and howitsbeing used. This supports global compliance data quality efforts data security efforts and other risk mitigation programs.

As the Head of Data Governance APAC you willbe reporting into the Head of CDAO APAClead the developmentandrolloutofongoing operationalisation of an APACwide data governance frameworkincludingkey policiesstandardsand tools with a core focus on improving data quality protection of sensitive dataensuring appropriate use of dataas well asa comprehensive change management plan.

What you will do

• Establish andmaintaindata privacy and records management regulatorychange monitoring compliance and change processes to ensure Line 1 compliance ability

• Educate internalteamsand manage implications of relevant regulatory and legal changes innovations and industry developments

• Work with theexecutivesbusiness stakeholders data engineers data scientists and data analyststodetermineimplementand manage an APAC wide process for analytics use case identificationprioritisationand planningof data products

• Establish and developthe DataGovernanceStrategy across APAC; Contribute to Vanguard global Data Strategy and Data Governance program

• Establish andmaintainoperational data access security models working withinVanguard Globaldataframeworks

• Provide oversightofmature data managementand third partiesthrough the use ofdata contracts and integration standards

• Establish andmaintaina demand management process for CDAOAPAC;Lead and advocate Data Stewardships and Ownership

• Collaborate withDataDomainPracticeLeads Data Stewards business stakeholders & CDAO memberstodevelopimplement plansstreamline dataflowseliminatesilos & redundancy by creating Foundational Data Assets onour ModernData Platform

• Collaborate with Security Risk Privacy and Complianceto proactivelyidentify assess & monitor data risk integrity & quality; implement & embed strong controls and ensure controls are tested regularly to ensureobligations are met.

• Work withdata practitioners across Vanguard indefiningstandards and guidelines for enterprisemaster data management;Provide resources and govern data modelling projects and BAU initiative

• Work with peers to define data and analytics requirements across APAC based on key strategic priorities and business unit plans

• Contribute tooperating model talenthiring partnerships and tool requirements to executeAPAC CDAO datastrategyand governance

• Leadand set the framework for data contracts and integration standardswith external and internal data sources

What are we looking for

• An understanding of and focus onAPRA regulation Data Management Frameworks & CPS 234

• A demonstrated strong understanding ofMaster Data Management landscape CDEs Data Quality and Observability

• Excellent knowledge of Australian Information Management Security and Privacy legislation and industry best practices. Including:

• Detailed understanding of APRA CPG 235 Managing Data Risk applicationissuesand options.

• Detailed understanding of Privacy Reforms applicationsissueand options

• Mature understanding of data risks and solutions including experience dealing with data leakage cloud computing systems access data management.

• Understandingof DAMAs Data Management Body of Knowledge (DM BOK)

• Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering data management reporting including presenting toSeniorManagementteamsandExecutives

• Experience with cloud Data Governance CatalogueToolsand Data QualityTooling

• Exceptional organisational and communication skills an ability to work effectively and to collaborate with abroadrange of people including senior stakeholders

Specialisationsthat will make an impact:

• Experience and/or qualifications in Information technology and corporate governance inhighly regulated industries such as:Finances Medical Devices Aerospace or Health industries will be highly regarded

• Supportbasicdata exploration usingSQL;TechnicalData Governance experience with lineage mapping data quality rules

• Demonstrated strong problem-solving and analyticalskills;Understanding and working experience with model Data & Analytics frameworks

• Knowledge of cloud governance and cloud management principles strategies and frameworks

• Familiarity with cloud compliance solutions provided by at least one of the leading vendors

• Experience workingwith vendors and 3rdparties to ensure compliance anddata governance best practices

• Bachelors orMastersdegree in computer science Engineering or equivalent experience. A minimum of8years in IT/Data & Analytics and relevant experience.

• Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a (ideally global) compliance and ethics/governance function
