POSITION SUMMARY
The position of Manager Clinical Engineering CHEO will have the primary responsibility for the day-to-day operation and maintenance of healthcare technology within their specific area of responsibility including all medical devices either serviced directly by CHEO Clinical Engineering or serviced by contracted external resources both at CHEO and at assigned regional facilities. These duties are accomplished through management of an in-house team of technical staff and a wide range of contracted vendors and the engineering staff project management staff both at CHEO and any of the other regional healthcare facilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Conduct all human resource management functions for the Biomedical Engineering Technologist (BMET) staff within your area of responsibility within of the department.
Manage the maintenance and repair workloads of the BMETs within your area of responsibility.
Set standard for performance and quality and develop/implement objective quantitative audit tools to evaluate technical staff performance
Operate the program quality auditing system for all clinical departments.
Develop maintenance summary forms and maintenance schedules based on manufacturers guidelines for internal / external customers.
Approve external vendor repairs for either the hospital or their external customers under a value of approved threshold.
Approve purchase orders issued by the department with values of up to approved threshold
In conjunction with other senior department staff plans develop and coordinates training strategies for department staff.
Participate in the training of Clinical Engineering staff and other Hospital staff as required.
Write policies and procedures relating to Clinical Engineering as required
Evaluate and manage external service contracts and negotiate renewals as required.
Participate in corporate capital project teams as required.
Support a culture of patient safety through regulatory compliance alerts/hazard and incident reviews
Provide ongoing support of centralized computerized maintenance management system
Perform cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required
Perform other duties consistent with the job classification as required
QUALIFICATIONS
Criminal Record Check (Essential)
University Degree in an engineering or technology discipline (Essential)
Certified Engineering Technologist (C.E.T.) or registration as a Professional Engineer (.) (Essential)
Eligibility for certification as a Biomedical Eng. Technologist (CBET) or a Certified Clinical Engineer (CCE) (Essential)
Minimum 10 years profession-related experience (Essential))
Minimum 5 years management experience (Preferred)
Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint (Essential)
Bilingualism (English and French) (Preferred)
Hospital experience with medical gas systems sterilization systems emergency power distribution. (Preferred)
Experience in project and contract management (Essential)
Extensive experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (Essential)
Financial management and budget control. (Essential)
Excellent communication and inter-personal skills. (Essential)
Sound knowledge of CSA regulations Health Canada regulations HARP Act Occupational Health and Safety Act Codes and Regulations. (Essential)

RÉSUMÉ DU POSTE
Le ou la titulaire du poste de gestionnaire Ingénierie clinique (CHEO) aura la responsabilité principale du fonctionnement et de lentretien quotidiens de la technologie des soins de santé dans son secteur de responsabilité particulier ycompris tous les appareils médicaux qui sont soit entretenus directement par lingénierie clinique (CHEO) soit entretenus par des ressources externes sous contrat tant à CHEO que dans les installations régionales assignées. Ces tâches sont accomplies au moyen de la gestion dune équipe interne demployés techniques dun large éventail de fournisseurs sous contrat et du personnel de gestion de projet dingénierie tant à CHEO que dans tout autre établissement de soins de santé régional.
RESPONSABILITÉS
Effectuer toutes les fonctions de gestion des ressources humaines pour le personnel du technologue en génie biomédical (BMET) dans votre domaine de responsabilité au sein du service.
Gérer les charges de travail dentretien et de réparation des BMET dans votre domaine de responsabilité.
Établir des normes de rendement et de qualité et développer/mettre en œuvre des outils de vérification quantitatifs objectifs pour évaluer le rendement du personnel technique.
Gérer le système de vérification de la qualité des programmes pour tous les services cliniques.
Élaborer des formulaires de résumé de maintenance et des calendriers de maintenance basés sur les directives du fabricant pour les clients internes et externes.
Approuver les réparations des fournisseurs externes pour lHôpital ou ses clients externes en dessous de la valeur du seuil approuvé.
Approuver les bons de commande émis par le service dont la valeur est inférieure au seuil approuvé.
En collaboration avec dautres cadres supérieurs du service planifier élaborer et coordonner les stratégies de formation pour le personnel du service.
Participer à la formation du personnel dingénierie clinique et des autres membres du personnel de lHôpital selon les besoins.
Rédiger des politiques et des procédures relatives à lingénierie clinique selon les besoins.
Évaluer et gérer les contrats de services externes et négocier leur renouvellement si nécessaire.
Participer aux équipes de projets dimmobilisations de lorganisation selon les besoins.
Soutenir une culture de sécurité des patients par la conformité réglementaire les alertes les examens des dangers et incidents.
Fournir un soutien continu au système informatisé centralisé de gestion de la maintenance.
Effectuer des tâches transversales selon les affectations ou les besoins.
Effectuer dautres tâches conformes à la classification du poste le cas échéant.
QUALIFICATIONS
Vérification du casier judiciaire (Essentiel)
Diplôme universitaire dans une discipline dingénierie ou de technologie (Préférable)
Technologue agréé en ingénierie (CET) ou inscription en tant quingénieur professionnel (.) (Essentiel)
Admissibilité à la certification en tant quingénieur biomédical (CBET) ou dIngénieur clinique certifié (CCE) (Essentiel)
Minimum 10 ans dexpérience professionnelle pertinente (Essentiel)
Minimum 5 ans dexpérience en gestion (Préférable)
Maîtrise de la suite MS Office y compris Outlook Word Excel PowerPoint (Essentiel)
Bilinguisme (anglais et français) (Préférable)
Expérience des hôpitaux en matière de systèmes de gaz médicaux de stérilisation de distribution dénergie de secours
