Job Summary
Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM) has been providing quality service since 1957. We are one of the largest facility service providers in the State of Hawaii. Our company is seeking a qualified individual with industry experience. Reporting directly to the Chief Building Engineer or the Account Manager-Engineering the Maintenance Technician / Utility Technician will be tasked with general maintenance and repairs of facility equipment and property structures as well as grounds maintenance while floating to different locations. Candidates must have a valid drivers license reliable vehicle previous hands-on maintenance experience proficiency in light plumbing electrical work HVAC carpentry and painting all tasks must be performed in accordance with EPA Hazmat and OSHA safety regulations. -Position: Full-Time Maintenance Technician / Utility Technician
-Location: Honolulu HI 96813 (Downtown Oahu)
-Schedule:Variable Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am - 8:30pm (5 days 40 hours a week)
Must have open availability subjective to emergencies: after hours weekends and holidays.
-Key Responsibilities:
Perform preventative maintenance inspections and repairs: painting drywall plumbing electrical mechanical and heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and grounds maintenance
Excellent customer service skills to interact with property managers vendors customers etc.
Drive to different locations to provide coverage
Able to lift push pull a minimum of 50lbs up to 75lbs walk bend stretch during shift
Ensure mechanical equipment and systems are working in order and fixed as necessary.
Create and maintain work orders
Create and maintain purchase orders
Perform any additional maintenance related duties as required by Hawaiian Building Maintenance (HBM)supervisor/property management
-Skills/Qualifications:
Must pass background check
High school diploma or GED preferred
Must have a valid drivers license and a reliable vehicle
Ability to work a flexible schedule
Must have basic hand tools
General preventative maintenance experience is required (Basic commercial plumbing electricalHVAC carpentry painting and drywall)
Troubleshooting abilities
Mechanical aptitude
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions in English
Must have good public relations skills and communication
Customer service oriented
Strong organizational skills
Applicants must perform basic manual labor clean common areas frequently lift press push pull carry a minimum of 50lbs (up to 75lbs) be able to reach overhead grasp objects bend kneel crawl squat climb stretch walk walk up and down a stairway climb up/down a ladder and stand throughout their shift.
Willingness to learn and improve
-Compensation range per hour:$20.00 - $24.00
