Saint Joseph Health System a proud member of Trinity Health has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible General Surgeon to join ourcommunity-based practiceinMishawaka Indianajust minutes from the University of Notre Dame.
You will provide comprehensive surgical care including clinic OR inpatient consults and shared call coverage. The schedule supports work-life balance while meeting the needs of a very active general surgery service line.
What Youll Do:
- Provide full-spectrum general surgery care in accordance with training and privileging.
- Manage inpatient consults admissions and perioperative care; coordinate safe efficient discharges and follow-up.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional care
- Maintain an active ambulatory clinic with timely access for new and returning patients.
- Participate in shared call for general surgery including weekday and weekend rotation.
- Utilize DaVinci robotic technology and modern surgical facilities
- Adhere to evidence-based guidelines surgical pathways and documentation standards to support quality metrics and value-based care.
- Engage in quality improvement peer review and morbidity and mortality committees.
- Utilize the hospitals EMR (Epic) for documentation order entry and communication.
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies regulatory standards and credentialing requirements.

- Board-Certified or Board-Eligible in General Surgery

- Eligible for Indiana medical licensure and DEA registration
