The base pay scale for this position is $86000.00 - $131375.00. In addition this position will be eligible for additional benefits consistent with the role. The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be determined based on various factors including but not limited to: scope of role level of experience education accomplishments internal equity budget and subject to Fair Market Value evaluation. ResearchAdministration is committed to providing faculty research staff and administrative support staff with the tools necessary to perform the various functionsto ensure the responsible stewardship of extramural funds. Central support units including the Office of Sponsored Programs Contracts Administration Clinical Research Financial Administration and Post Award Administration partnering with Central Finance and Research Accounting to assess the needs of our Investigators and to develop and offer opportunities for research development. This position will liaise with our Research Institutes (RI) faculty members who are conducting basictranslationand clinical research.
Reporting to theSenior Directorof Post Award Administration TheFinance Administratoris responsible fortheday-to-daymanagement ofPost Award Administration.This position will exercise management responsibility over sponsored research while ensuring compliance with federal foundationsindustryand regulatory agenciesas well asHSS policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsible for managing theday-to-day operation of Post Award
SupervisingPost Awardstaff members
This positionis responsible forreviewing and processing all FSRs and invoices related to Federal and Foundation awards.
Responsible for preparing financial analysisand meeting withPrincipal Investigators
Develops and recommends corrective action plans to address deficits.
Provide guidance on budget and financial policies to ensure adherence to institutional policies and standards.
Assistwith the preparation of financial metrics for presentation to various PIs and Leadership
Responsible forresearchfinancial managementactivities.Assistsin reconciling budget to actual expense activity for all grants and contracts.
Responsible foroverseeingprocurement activities related to goods services and/or equipmentand fordisbursement/reimbursement activities asneeded.
Responsible for overseeing thesetting up new accounts in Research Administrations Financial System
Researchesall financial discrepancies; contactsappropriate personnelto resolve issues.
Responsible foroverseeingcoresbilling/receivables including animal facilities.Reconcilespayments with partner institutions andrectifiesany errors.
Responsible forassistingin the payroll allocations for all ResearchPersonnelto variousgrants.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in financeor related field
Five years of financial experiencein finance andgrantsmanagement including pre- and post-award management financial analysis budgeting and experience with NIH DOD Foundation and industry sponsors.
Thoroughunderstanding of research administration guidelines of Federal and non-Federal sponsors supporting research and educational activities preferably in an academic environment.
Ability to perform complex financial analysis and customized reporting.
Demonstrated competence in the use of spreadsheet and database software in financial analysis fiscalmanagementand financial reports.
Maintains current knowledge of compliance regulations in all areas of research finance.
Ability tomaintainstrong organization and communicationskills.
Good teamwork skills as well as the ability to workindependently.
