Diagnostic Imaging Assistant (Bank)

We have an opportunity for a Diagnostic Imaging Assistant to join their team of staff in theImaging department.

This is a bank role working on an as and when required basis you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Ultrasound lists typically start at 9:30am with occasional weekend lists starting at 9:00am.

Duties of this role include:

• You work as an integral part of the imaging team providing a high standard of patient-centred care meeting the needs of patients consultants and colleagues.

• You will be responsible for setting up ultrasound lists for a wide range of scans including ultrasound pelvis (with intimate examinations for women) ultrasound urinary tract thyroid scans hernia and groin scans musculoskeletal scans and joint injections performed under image guidance.

• You will assist the consultant or sonographer by preparing equipment ensuring efficient room turnaround and maintaining a clean safe and well-organised environment.

• You will care for patients throughout their visit and act as a chaperone when required.

• You work within the multi-disciplinary team to deliver care maintain and enhance the customer service and satisfaction of service users under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner.

• You conduct yourself professionally within the HCA/ Imaging Assistants standard framework understanding the standards in accordance with the Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC) Codes of professional Conduct and the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

• You demonstrate competence in the role of Imaging Assistant within the scope of your working areas.

• You work alongside multi-disciplinary team to provide safe and high-quality care provision for patients.

• You comply with all relevant mandatory training.

Applicants should meet the following criteria:

• Previous healthcare experience is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. If you do not already hold a Care Certificate or NVQ Level 1 you will be required to complete the Care Certificate on commencement of the role as this is an essential requirement.

• Experience of customer care including interacting with customers in challenging situations.

• NVQ Level 1 and/or be willing to work towards NVQ Level 2 (Healthcare specific) or equivalent.

• Willingness to work towards NVQ Level 3 (Healthcare specific) or equivalent.

• Maths English GCSE at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
