Job Description

Supports the study conduction process for Phase I clinical studies. Collects study-specific data byperforming technical and non-technical procedures.

Day to day responsibilities:

  • Performs technical procedures including Automated Vital Signs

  • Electrocardiogram blood collections etc.

  • Performs non-technical procedures including urine collections subject walks andsafety monitoring.

  • Interacts regularly with study subjects in all in-house and outpatient studies inorder to perform study related procedures.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High / Secondary school diploma or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

  • Technical positions may require a certificate

Previous experience that provides the knowledge skills and abilities to perform the job or ability to betrained in Phase I technical procedures.
In some cases an equivalency consisting of a combination of appropriate education trainingand/or directly related experience will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet therequirements of the role.


Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to be trained in all Phase I technical procedures

  • Ability to interact with subjects and staff in a professional manner

  • Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment


Working Conditions and Environment:

  • Work is performed in an office or clinical environment with exposure to electrical office equipment.

  • Frequently works long hours and varying shifts

  • Frequently works weekends and/or holidays

  • Frequently works at a fast pace under varying time constraints

  • Frequently requires working on multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Frequent exposure to bio-hazardous material infectious diseases and/or illnesses

  • Personal protective equipment may be required such as protective eyewear garments and gloves.


Physical Requirements:

  • Occasionally stationary for 1 - 2 hours per day.

  • Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast simple repeated movementsof the fingers hands and wrists.

  • Frequent mobility required.

  • Occasional crouching stooping bending and twisting of upper body and neck.

  • Light to moderate lifting and carrying (or otherwise moves) objects including luggage and laptopcomputer with a maximum lift of 15-20 lbs.

  • Ability to access and use a variety of computer software developed both in-house and off-the-shelf.

  • Ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen toand understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.

  • May interact with others relating and gathering sensitive information. Interaction includes diversegroups.

  • Works with guidance or reliance on oral or written instructions from management. May requireperiods of intense concentration.

  • Performs a wide range of variable tasks as dictated by variable demands and changing conditionswith little predictability as to the occurrence.

  • Ability to perform under stress. Ability to multi-task.
