Job Summary

Summary

This position is part of the Air Force Elements U.S. Transportation Command. The incumbent will be responsible for To assist in the planning development integration and execution of an effective education evaluation and exercise program including integrating joint education training activities across USTRANSCOM for both internal and external audiences


Duties

As a TRAINING SPECIALIST (INSTRUCTOR) at the GSsome of your typical work assignments may include:

  • Implements evaluates and coordinates USTRANSCOMs education and evaluation programs.
  • Recommends various courses of action to ensure senior leadership has alternatives to resolve problems associated with USTRANSCOM training programs.
  • Performs evaluations of a full range of USTRANSCOM and its subordinate commands training programs and develops and executes improvement and enhancement plans.
  • Prepares and delivers written reports and oral presentations including briefings training sessions consultations orientations and discussions with USTRANSCOM leadership supervisors co- workers and customers.
  • Conducts extensive analysis of available facts applicable directives laws and other guidelines which may be only partially relevant in the resolution for dealing with especially difficult and complex problems and particularly controversial issues.

  • Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences meetings or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
  • May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours.

Qualifications

You may qualify at the GS-GS-13 if you fulfill the following qualifications:

A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:

  • Plan and develop training programs to include gathering facts evaluating on/education/training needs and making adjustments and improvements
  • Perform training evaluation and monitor to determine operational effectiveness ensuring compliance requirements are met and recommend methods to improve programs.
  • Develop effective training programs with theories principals and procedures.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g. professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community student social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies knowledge and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience including volunteer experience.

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
