Who we are
Our central role includes managing the provincial power grid in real-time overseeing and evolving Ontarios electricity market engaging with government municipalities and Indigenous communities and planning for Ontarios future electricity needs. Our employees play a key role in driving grid innovation protecting the system from threats advancing the provinces energy conservation programs and forecasting and procuring the electricity resources well need in the decades to come.
This role is part of the Markets and Sector Evolution team within Markets and Reliability. This is a union job.

You will shape market design changes that influence how participants engage in Ontarios electricity market and how market services evolve to meet future needs. You will lead complex endtoend projects with high visibility to both stakeholders and senior leadership.
What youll do
In this role youll make a meaningful impact by contributing to the IESO team and supporting the electricity needs of the province through:
In a typical day you will lead market evolution projects that shape the design and operation of Ontarios wholesale electricity market. Youll research emerging trends develop market design options assess impacts and prepare clear recommendations to support evidencebased decisions. Your work will focus on operationaltimeframe rules and processessuch as bidding scheduling dispatch and settlementand on addressing interfaces between market design planning procurement and operations. Youll collaborate with internal staff engage with stakeholders and represent the IESO as a subject matter expert. The changes you help design will shape the services offered in the market how participants interact with them and how market rules and processes evolve to support Ontarios changing electricity system.
