Human Resources Generalist
We are seeking a highly organized and self-driven HR Generalist to support our growing construction operations. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who is comfortable working in a fast-paced field-driven environment and partnering with both office staff and jobsite personnel.
The HR Generalist plays a key role in supporting employee relations compliance recruiting and core HR processes that keep our workforce running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
Recruit screen and interview candidates for skilled trades labor and staff positions
Conduct new hire onboarding and orientation
Maintain and update employee records and status changes
Process time and attendance information
Administer employee benefits programs (health insurance & retirement plans)
Maintain 401(k) contributions and related records
Process Certified Payroll as required
Support workers compensation claims and return-to-work programs
Assist with prevailing wage and compliance requirements
Support employee relations matters and workplace concerns
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state employment regulations
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum 3 years of HR experience (construction or trades industry strongly preferred)
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
Personable and approachable able to build trust with field crews and supervisors
Strong written and verbal communication skills
High level of discretion and professionalism with confidential information
Sound judgment and problem-solving ability
Experience handling employee relations and conflict resolution
Familiarity with workers compensation processes
Working knowledge of prevailing wage requirements preferred
