Wet Finishing Operative

Job Title: Wet Finishing OperativeWe are currently looking for a Wet Finishing Operative to join our busy Wet Finishing this role you will be trained to become skilled in the finishing of the luxurious cloths that becomes our is a full time permanent post working 38 hours per week on a 2 shift rotation (early and late).Rate of pay starting from 13.08 per hour increasing to 13.45 in May 2026 along with shift pay allowance. About the RoleAs a Wet Finishing Operative you will operate and monitor machinery that washes and processes cloth transforming it from raw and greasy to clean soft and ready for further production responsibilities include:Operating and patrolling wet finishing machinery including Pinwheel and Vapourdec machinesMonitoring cloth quality throughout the finishing processHandling materials safely and in line with operating proceduresLearning multiple machines and processes over time (up to 15 machines and 27 processes)Working as part of a team to meet production and quality standardsFull training will be you: This is what were looking for in our ideal candidate:Have the ability to carefully and accurately follow verbal and detailed written instructionsTake pride in doing a job well and never compromise on high standardsBe a team player with good communication skillsHave good colour vision A passion to create beautiful productsHave a keen eye for detailBe able to work to deadlinesPrevious experience operating machinery or using manual handling techniquesAbout UsFounded in 1797 Johnstons of Elgin is an innovative luxury clothing brand celebrating 225 years of experience in working with the worlds finest fibres.
