Job Summary

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Backend Developer with strong Python skills and deep AWS infrastructure experience to take ownership of our backend systems and cloud setup.

This is a core engineering role with high ownership. The person will work directly with the CEO and is expected to be day-one productive (plug & play).The role is designed to evolve into a CTO / Head of Engineering track over time.

Responsibilities

Design build and scale backend services using Python
Own and manage AWS infrastructure from setup to production
Lead backend architecture decisions and database design
Optimize performance reliability and security of systems
Build and maintain APIs used by frontend and AI components
Work closely with frontend developers (currently freelance moving in-house)
Take technical ownership of newly released product features
Help transition the engineering team from a mostly freelance setup to an in-house structure
Support upcoming sales and customer service teams with technical solutions

Requirements

Must-Have

Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering or a related field
5 years of professional backend development experience
Strong Python experience (backend systems data operations)
Hands-on AWS expertise including:

o RDS DynamoDB
o ECS / Lambda
o OpenSearch
o SQS EventBridge
o Elastic Beanstalk EC2

Experience with containerized deployments and distributed systems
Strong understanding of database performance optimization
Experience deploying and maintaining production systems
Native-level Turkish professional-level English
Ability to work independently and self-manage without a CTO

Nice-to-Have

Experience in high-scale tech companies
Previous technical leadership or mentoring experience
