Job Title: Pre-Construction Project Manager

Job Overview:
The Pre-Construction Project Manager is responsible for managing projects during the pre-construction phase ensuring scope design cost and risk are clearly defined and aligned. This role collaborates closely with Owners design consultants and internal teams to deliver accurate estimates optimize designs and set projects up for successful execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage projects throughout the pre-construction phase
Hire and coordinate design consultants and manage the design process
Lead meetings with Owners architects engineers and consultants
Track scope of work and communicate cost impacts of scope changes
Prepare cost estimates outline specifications and value engineering options
Investigate site soil zoning code and agency requirements
Identify and communicate project risks and constraints early
Interpret design documents and clarify unclear scope items
Perform preliminary design work (manual sketches or CADD) for estimating
Conduct quantity take-offs and develop detailed line-item estimates
Analyze cost impacts of design changes during design development
Maintain cost databases and tracking tools for unit and summary costs
Education & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Engineering Construction Management or related field
Minimum 2 years of related experience or equivalent education/experience
